Governance

The EPMS Governing Board will be responsible for ensuring that the school is run in compliance with its Charter, all applicable state and federal laws, and that the school remains financially viable. The EPMS Governing Board may initiate and carry on any program, activity, or may otherwise act in any manner which is not in conflict with or inconsistent with, or preempted by any law and which is not in conflict with the purposes for which Charter Schools are established.

The EPMS Governing Board may execute any powers delegated by law to it and shall discharge any duty imposed by law upon it and may delegate to an officer or employee of Eagle Peak Montessori School any of those duties. The Governing Board, however, retains ultimate responsibility over the performance of those powers or duties so delegated. The Governing Board will also serve as advocate for the Charter School Movement and Montessori Education with the MDUSD, the State Board of Education, and others.
